This collection evokes the most significant event of the 20th century. The Second World War
began, following the German attack on Poland on 1st September 1939. The war in Asia had
already been raging at that time since 7th July 1937. After 6 long years of war, the weapons
throughout Europe became silent on 8th May 1945. In Asia, the fighting lasted until the
surrender of Japan on 2nd September 1945. This collection consists of 7 exquisite silver coins of
the most significant war-participating states – the three Axis powers of Italy, Japan and the
Third Reich, as well as the four Allies of France, Great Britain, Russia and the United States.
