Napoleon, the great French commander, was finally beaten by the united troops of United Kingdom, Russia and Prussia in the crucial Battle of Waterloo. The influence of Napoleon Bonaparte on the development of 19th century furope is undisputed. The reforms during his reign as emperor are responsible for the structures of law and society even today. After his exile to the Mediterranean island of flba, Napoleon returned to France on 1st March 1815 and started his “hundred days rule”. The Battle of Waterloo on 18th June 1815 sealed the fate of Bonaparte, and he re­signed as emperor on 22nd June 1815.
