The palace was built in the late 17th century and expanded greatly during the 18th century. It includes a very rich interior decoration in Baroque and Rococo style. A large formal garden surrounded by forests was added behind the palace. During the Second World War, the palace suffered serious damage but has since been rebuilt. The palace with its gardens is an important tourist attraction
